TIME ROLLING · OIL & GAS DRILLING
Slick, Spiral & Non-Magnetic Drill Collars
Time Rolling supplies slick, spiral and non-magnetic drill collars for oil and gas drilling. Compare material options, thread treatments and dimensions to identify the products required for your drill string.
- Drill collar types
- 3
- Slick & spiral alloy
- 4145H
- Slick & spiral diameter
- Up to 14 in.
Slick drill collars
Slick drill collars are manufactured from 4145H modified chromium-molybdenum alloy steel to API Spec 7.
- CNC-machined threads, including double-shouldered and special thread forms.
- Thread treatments: phosphating, copper plating or cold working.
- Maximum drill collar diameter: 14 inches.

Non-magnetic drill collars
Non-magnetic drill collars use low-carbon chromium-manganese material produced through a proprietary chemical composition and rotary hammer process. The material offers resistance to stress corrosion cracking, good machinability and resistance to galling.
- Maximum relative magnetic permeability μr: 1.010 (source test condition: MPS = 1105/4 Nm).
- Maximum magnetic field gradient (hot spots): 0.05 microtesla per 100 mm.

Spiral drill collars
Spiral drill collars are made from 4145H modified chromium-molybdenum alloy steel to API Spec 7, with CNC-machined double-shouldered or special threads.
- Thread treatments: phosphating, copper plating or cold working.
- Outside diameter: 3-7/8 to 14 inches.
- Spiral depth of cut: 4.0–11.9 mm.
- Length: 9,150 +150 mm.
